Tell Me About It
The legendary Mugga hook pattern has been pivotal in the capture of countless big carp. The latest Covert Dark Mugga hooks have been given a facelift, with several key improvements that make them even better. Gardner have re-specified the shape and length of the Muggas point so they are longer and much sharper than before. The new long tapered points are a massive step up, and ensure the hook pricks and penetrates even quicker. They have also swapped over to the new, stripped down Covert Dark plating. This new finish still offers excellent camouflage thanks to the matte finish, and also ensures that you get the sharpest possible point on the hook, as it is a single electroplated finish, and the reduction in handling during the finishing process means the points remain immaculate and razor sharp.
All new Covert Dark Hooks now feature micro barbed hooks. This offers two major benefits. Firstly, many commercial fisheries require anglers to use patterns with small barbs, as it is gentler on the fish, and secondly micro barbed hooks are stronger, as less wire is cut out to form the barb. This, combined with the longer chemically etched point has made the Covert Dark Mugga a truly awesome hook.
What Discipline Is It For?
Perfect for coarse fishing for carp on natural or commercial venues, these Gardner hooks are versatile enough to have something to offer almost every angler, no matter what your discipline.
Why Should I Buy It?
If you’re fishing commercial venues, the smaller hook points on the Muggas are compliant with most fisheries’ rules on hook size and patter, while still offering all the hold and durability you would expect, on natural and commercial carp waters.
What’s The Best Thing About It?
The Covert matte finish makes these hooks ideal for a range of angling situations, and perfect for the subtle, stalking specimen angler.
